What is commonly foam roller in the electronics industry

Foam materials, as the crystallization of plastic particle foaming technology, have shown extraordinary application value in many fields with their unique physical and chemical properties.

Overview of  Foam Materials

Based on the differences in pore structure, foam can be subdivided into:

Open-cell foam: Like a sponge in nature, the internal pores are interconnected, giving it excellent sound absorption, moisture absorption and high compressibility, making it an ideal choice for earphone earplugs and sound insulation gaskets.

Semi-open-cell foam: Between open and closed cells, it has certain independent bubbles, which not only maintains good compressibility but also improves resilience. It is often used for shock absorption protection of precision instruments.

Closed-cell foam: Each bubble is independently closed, effectively isolating moisture and dust, showing excellent heat insulation, dustproof and low compression residue characteristics, and is an ideal material for sealing and packaging of electronic products.

Microporous foam: The pores are small and dense, with high density and high strength, suitable for occasions requiring high-strength support and cushioning.

Double Sided PE Foam Tape

From the perspective of material composition, the foam family is huge, including:

Silicone foam: resistant to high temperature and chemical corrosion, it is the first choice for high-end electronic products.
PU foam: good elasticity, wear resistance, widely used in shoes and car interiors.
EPDM foam: excellent weather resistance and aging resistance, it is an ideal partner for outdoor applications.
Pearl cotton (EPE), PVC, PE, PP and other foams have their own advantages and are used in packaging, sound insulation, heat insulation, waterproofing and other fields.
From the essence of the material, foam can be divided into three categories:

Polyethylene series: PE foam, EVA foam, light and tough, suitable for a variety of daily applications.
Polyester and polyurethane series: polyether foam, polyurethane foam, with its excellent elasticity and durability, has become the darling of the high-end market.
Rubber series: CR, NR, SBR, EPDM and other foams, with their unique oil resistance and wear resistance, are widely used in the industrial field.
In industry applications, foam shines even more:

Shock-absorbing foam: Provides all-round protection for precision equipment and electronic components, ensuring safe transportation and use.
Dust-proof foam: Builds a solid protective barrier in a small space to protect precision optical components from dust.
Sound-insulating and sound-absorbing foam: Combined with various acoustic materials, it brings excellent acoustic experience to cars and audio systems.
Conductive foam: Plays an important role in electronic devices, ensuring accurate signal transmission and providing necessary electromagnetic shielding.
Foot pads and filling foam: Not only provide a comfortable touch, but also show excellent performance in anti-slip, shock absorption and filling.
