Selecting the appropriate tape:

Different types of double-sided tapes possess varying characteristics and are suitable for different application. When making a selection, consider factors such as the weight of the object, the material properties of the surfaces being bonded (non-polar plastics or rough surfaces), environmental conditions (humidity, temperature variations, etc.), as well as the desired adhesive strength and durability. For rough surfaces, foam double-sided tape is commonly used, while for outdoor applications requiring strong weather resistance, tapes with a base material of PE or PET are typically chosen.

Preparation:

Ensure that the surfaces to be bonded are dry and clean, free from rust and oil stains. During the process of using, avoid direct contact between fingers and the adhesive surface to achieve optimal bonding effectiveness. If the surface contains dust, grease, or other impurities, it can be cleaned first by using a cleaning cloth or alcohol. For difficult-to-bond surfaces with high roughness, meshes (such as wood, aluminum, etc.), or containing rubber and PTFE, surface pretreatment with processing water is required.

Cutting the tape to the appropriate length:

Cut the double-sided tape to the desired length according to your needs, and trim the edges with a cutting tool to ensure the tape is easy to handle. Carefully peel off one side of the protective film to reveal the adhesive side of the double-sided tape.

Paste and press firmly:

Paste the side without the protective film onto an object and accurately position it where bonding is required. (Once the double-sided tape is applied, removing it may affect the bonding effect). Gently press the tape with your fingers or a tool (a scraper or roller is recommended) to ensure it makes full contact and securely adheres. Applying moderate pressure helps ensure even bonding of the tape. Press the items to be bonded onto the tape and repeat the pressing process.

Attention:

Storage and solidify time: Some tapes require a certain storage and solidify time to ensure the best bonding effect. Typically, double-sided tapes exhibit initial adhesion, and after 24 hours of initial solidification, the hardness can reach 80%. However, to achieve the maximum strength requires 72 hours. During this period, refrain from structural operations. For more information, please refer to the instructions, and follow the specific solidify time to ensure optimal adhesive strength of the tape.

Avoid loading and shearing: Avoid immediately applying excessive weight or shearing force to prevent affecting the bonding effect after bonding.

Proper storage: Pay attention to the temperature and humidity when storing double-sided tapes, ensuring storage under recommended environmental conditions, and the tape packaging is intact.
