What is Double sided Flame retardant Tissue Tape?used for?
Double-sided Flame-retardant Tissue Tape is a semi-transparent adhesive tape composed of cotton paper as the substrate and coated with acrylic adhesive on both sides. It has strong adhesion and long-lasting sticking power.
Features of Double-sided Flame-retardant Tissue Tape:
1.Excellent flame retardancy: Through UL94-VO level flame retardant testing, it exhibits outstanding flame retardant and fire-resistant performance, effectively preventing the spread of fire.
2.Good performance at low temperatures: It maintains excellent performance even in low temperature environments.
3.ROHS environmentally friendly: The tape complies with ROHS standards and is environmentally friendly.
4.Low smoke and non-toxic: The flame-retardant tape produces minimal smoke and does not release toxic or harmful gases, ensuring personnel safety.
5.Strong adhesion: It has good initial tack and holding power, allowing for secure bonding to various materials.
6.Wide range of applications: It is suitable for various applications, such as bonding lithium battery cushioning foam, automotive interior assembly, wire wrapping, and air conditioner internal fixation, providing flame retardant, fire-resistant, and secure fastening.
7.Customization services: Different specifications and colors of flame-retardant double-sided adhesive tapes can be provided according to customer requirements, along with additional services such as slitting and rewinding.
Introduction to Flame Retardant Performance
The flame-retardant properties of this tape allow it to remain stable in extremely high-temperature environments, ensuring that it does not ignite even at very high temperatures.
Double-sided Flame-retardant Tissue Tape complies with the UL94 flame rating as VTM-0 and FMVSS 302 ≤100mm/min. Let’s introduce the definitions of these two flame ratings.
Let’s see the definitions of these two flame ratings.
The combustibility UL94 rating is the most widely used standard for evaluating the flammability performance of plastic materials. It is used to assess the material’s ability to self-extinguish after ignition using UL94 combustion test equipment.
UL94 Flame Test Apparatus for Flame Retardancy Testing
The VTM-0 flame retardant standard classifies materials into three levels: V-O, V-1, and V-2 based on their combustion performance.
V-0 is the highest flame retardant rating, indicating that the material’s flame will self-extinguish within 30 seconds during combustion.
V-1 is a medium flame retardant rating, with the flame self-extinguishing within 60 seconds.
V-2 is a low flame retardant rating, indicating that the flame will not self-extinguish within 60 seconds.
FMVSS302: According to the relevant provisions of FMVSS302 standard, the tested sample should not have a sustained burning time exceeding 60 seconds after coming into contact with an open flame. The burning rate should not exceed 102mm/min, and there should be no dripping or melting, nor should the burning extent exceed 100mm. Referring to the above two standards to use the flame-retardant tape.
Application of Double-sided Flame-retardant Tissue Tape
1.Suitable for flat bonding and assembly of interior foam, flannel, fabric, battery modules, and other components in vehicles.
2.Suitable for bonding of punching plates, nameplates, and thin film switches.
3.Used for battery fire prevention and bonding of sound-absorbing cotton.
4.Bonding of EVA and EPDM materials.
5.Bonding of thin film switch circuits.
6.Various fire protection requirements, such as bonding and fixation of electronic component foam pads.

Instructions for use:
The bonding strength depends on the amount of adhesive on the surface of the bonded objects. Applying steady pressure during the operation can enhance the contact performance and bonding strength of the adhesive.
For optimal adhesion, the bonding surface must be clean, dry, and evenly smooth. Typical cleaning solvents include alcohol or ethyl acetate. Use appropriate measures when handling solvents.
The ideal application temperature range is 21°C-38°C (70°F-100°F). It is not recommended to apply the adhesive tape below 10°C (50°F) during initial use.
