High temperature Teflon silicone tape is a combination of two materials: Teflon and silicone. These materials are blended together to create a tape that can handle temperatures ranging from -100°C to 260°C (-148°F to 500°F). The Teflon component provides a non-stick surface, while the silicone component ensures excellent adhesion to substrates. Additionally, Teflon Silicone Tape exhibits superior electrical insulation properties and chemical resistance.

PTFE Tape Application
Understanding what PTFE Tape tape is used for is important. There are several potential Teflon™ tape uses but ultimately, the requirements of a particular task will determine whether PTFE Tape tape is suitable.

PTFE Tape tape is commonly referred to as a thread sealant and many types can help to minimise leakage around certain types of joints. Specific thicknesses of tape can be selected to provide an additional barrier to leakage in ducting. These tapes often feature inherently expansive properties, helping to fill out any small gaps between threads and conduits once they have been wrapped around the inside of a threaded joint.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) was first discovered and commercialized by DuPont, under the brand name “Teflon.” Teflon tape has become synonymous with PTFE tape. PTFE has excellent properties such as resistance to solvents, chemicals, and outdoor stress. Its operating range is from -200 to 265℃, but its practical temperature range is limited to -70 to 260℃ due to the limitations of its coated adhesive. Additionally, PTFE has excellent electrical properties, and it is highly flame retardant, almost not burning.
